Date: 3/9/31   Time: 9:35

Location: Outside of the Wright Anything Agency

I knocked on the door three times. I was fairly certain someone would be in that office. I was ready for anything. I had scheduled an interview to hopefully get a job at the Wright Anything Agency. Suddenly and swiftly, the door opened. A man clad in a red suit had opened the door.

    “Hello?”

“A-Ah, hello! Is there a Mr. Wright here?”

“Oh, you must be the one he was expecting. Well, he isn’t here right now. What do you need?”

“Well, I was hoping I could have a job interview to work here.”

“Oh, you’re an attorney! Well, no one’s here but me, so I guess I’ll interview you. Is that alright?”

    “Yeah!”

So, the man had taken me into this room, which was really full of magic trick props and supplies. He had music playing, but I couldn’t tell what it was. All I could tell was that it was a female singer with a fantastic voice.

“Hey, uh, mister? Is anyone here a magician perchance?”

“Yeah, actually. My boss’s daughter is a magician, and a pretty good one for her age.”

    “Neat.”

Once we had sat down at a table, the man got a notepad out.

“Alright. My name is Apollo Justice. What’s yours?”

“My name is Skyler von Karma.”

Apollo’s eyes widened as I said my name. He scribbled it down, after giving me a puzzled look.

(I swear to fuck if my name fucks this up for me…)

“Alright. Prove to me that you’re an attorney.”

I slowly and methodically brought out my Attorney’s Badge, putting it down on the table. I had gone to pat my whip for good luck, but I forgot that I left it at home because I didn’t want to show up to a job interview with a whip.

    “Alright,” Apollo replied.

So we went through the entire job interview, and the final question was one that I was not prepared for. Physically AND mentally.

“Do you have any special powers?”

    “Uh, what?

Apollo blankly stared at me for a bit, clutching his bracelet as his eyes went wide open.

    “A-Are you alright?”

He stopped and jotted down something. He then repeated the question.

“Well,” I started, “I have this whip that I can metaphysically latch onto a person’s heart and mind and get a readout in my mind of things such as their heart rate, thoughts, and stuff like that.”

Apollo seemed astounded. “R-Really? That’s pretty cool. Well, Mr. von Karma, I will send this list of your responses and notes to my boss and we’ll call you back! I personally can’t wait to see you working with us.”

And with that, I was dismissed from the office.

My cell phone rang, which was kinda rare for my cell phone. So, looking at it half-assedly, it read “Wright Anything Agency.” Answering the call, I found out that it was a woman on the other line, not Apollo. “Hello? Who is this?”

“Hi! My name’s Athena! Is this Skyler von Karma?” The woman on the other end seemed extremely upbeat, TOO upbeat for a normal person, in fact.

    “Yes, I’m Skyler von Karma.”

“Well, I was just calling you to tell you to come over to the Wright Anything Agency!”

    “Just come there?”

    “Yep!”

    “Alright.”

I dashed out the door, but not before grabbing my whip.

I knocked on the door three times again. The door opened, but no one was immediately behind. The door seemingly opened itself.

    (Spookeh.)

Proceeding to walk inside, it seemed that the entire place was empty. “Hello?”

All of a sudden, 4 people jumped out from behind various things, tossing confetti into the air. “Congratulations," they all shouted at the top of their lungs in unison.

I almost fainted, to be perfectly honest. I even grabbed my whip and made a few blind, panicked slashes into the air. Evidently, everyone was surprised. One lawyer, however, seemed scared, no, TERRIFIED of my whip. He quickly ducked back down behind the couch. “What the hELL?!”

Apollo was the only one I recognized. The other three people were unrecognizable.

“Whoa, Skyler! Chill! No need to ‘Indiana Jones’ this!”

I quickly put my whip down, embarrassed.

“S-Sorry... You people scared the crap outta me. Anyway, why was I called here? And why did you guys yell ‘congratulations?’”

“Well,” Apollo started, as I noticed out of the corner of my eye the other two people in that room helping the man who had ducked behind the couch up, “we called you here to tell you you’re now part of the Wright Anything Agency!”

     “Wha-? Really?!”

“Yep. Also, I wanted you to meet the other people you would be seeing regularly here. The woman in the yellow is Athena Cykes. The man in blue is Phoenix Wright, your new boss, and the girl with the hat and cape is Trucy Wright, Mr. Wright’s daughter.”

They all waved when they finally got Phoenix back on his feet. Suddenly, Mr. Wright’s phone rang, the ever-so-popular Steel Samurai theme beginning to play its enticing melody. Mr. Wright excused himself and went to talk on the phone. A few minutes passed before he walked back in.

“Hey everyone, I just got a call from the Detention Center. Someone has requested us to represent them in court. Apollo, Athena, are you two busy?”

They both nodded their heads for “yes.” I quickly offered my services.

    “I’ll take the case.”

Everyone seemed shocked by that notion, but Mr. Wright was the first one to speak up.

    “But Skyler, aren’t you a brand-new lawyer?”

“I’m a brand-new defense attorney,” I started, “my mother kinda forced me into being a prosecutor, but I went behind her back and enrolled at the Themis Law Academy for becoming a defense attorney.”

Again, stunned silence, until Mr. Wright spoke up again.

“Wait, your mother wouldn’t happen to be Franziska von Karma?”

    “That’s my mother, yes.”

“W-Well,” began Mr. Wright, “I guess I’ll let you head this case. I’ll be watching your trial, though, so if you screw up too much, I’ll step in and help.”

    “Alright. Thank you all.”

I bowed and exited the room, quickly getting to my bike and heading off to the Detention Center. That point officially ended normal life for me. But I was prepared.
(*Note: This story is not-canon to the actual Ace Attorney timeline. Also, please notify me and ask me if you want to use my character, Skyler von Karma.)

Hello! This is my first post on DeviantArt, and I decided to make it a series because I thought that 48 pages all in one post would be boring as hell to pour through, so to make it easier on all of us, I'll be breaking it up into chunks! Please let me know what you think about it in the comments below!

This story is meant to introduce my original character, Skyler von Karma, who is both an attorney and prosecutor, and son of German prosecutor Franziska von Karma. This story will tackle a lot and give you guys a look at this new character in action!
